The Safe Driving Course is for motorists who are close to being liable for their first suspension under the Driver Improvement Points System (DIPS). Is the Safe Driving Course Compulsory?

The SDC course is voluntary. Those who choose not to attend the course will continue to have demerit points held against their driving record for the stipulated period.

SDC Curriculum & Duration

Course Curriculum: Theoretical Lesson(Online) and Practical Lesson(Onsite) Course Duration(4 hours 20 minutes): Theory – 3.5 hours and Practical – 50 minutes 1 instructor to 1 participant for practical driving lesson. How To Enrol for Safe Driving Course?

Only eligible motorists who have received the SDC notification letter from the Traffic Police may enrol for the course. Timeframe/ Enrolment Deadline to Attend SDC Course

Please refer to your SDC notification letter for the timeframe for registration and completion of the SDC. Motorists are able to register for the SDC within the period specified in the notification. How to Book for SDC Course Date?

- Upon successful enrolment, please login to the booking portal with your Learner ID. - You will need to select "Book Theory Lesson" and "Book Practical Lesson" to choose your preferred course date/time. Theory & Practical course date will need to be completed on the same day or within 48 working hours. - Click "Confirm" to book in your selected date/time. Is "SDC C3 PRAC ONLINE" Conducted Online or Onsite?

"SDC C3 PRAC ONLINE" is for the practical driving component which is conducted onsite @ CDC - 205 Ubi Ave 4 Singapore 408805. Booking has to be in pair with "SDC THEORY ONLINE" - theory component conducted online via Zoom Meeting. You are required to report 15 minutes before class commences. Latecomers will not be allowed to attend the class. Please remember to bring along your original NRIC or FIN and driving licence. No slippers or sandals. The dress code is smart casual.

Absenteeism/ Unable to Complete Course Before Deadline

Expunge of 4-Demerit Points Upon Completion of Course

It will take 3 working days after completion of the SDC for your status to be updated by the Traffic Police.

Additional Traffic Police Offence After SDC Registration

For course applicants who have gotten another offence after registering for SDC and have yet to attend the course, please check for your demerit points via Traffic Police website. Any accumulation of more than 24 demerit points after registration, course applicant will not be able to attend the course. Any payments made for the course will be forfeited.

Cancellation/ Reschedule/ Postponement for the Traffic Police Safe Driving Course

Postponement/ Cancellation/ Reschedule has to be requested at least 48 hours in advance before the date and time of actual training. The request may be put through via Live Chat or Hotline under our website - "[Find Us](https://www.cdc.com.sg/contact-us)" There will be a charge of $5.00 (subject to prevailing GST) imposed for any change/ cancellation. The new course date will be rebooked online and must be within the time frame, stated in the letter from Traffic Police.
